JALANDHAR, June 2: Former Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and SGPC President Gurcharan Singh Tohra today joined other leaders in paying rich tributes to former Punjab Minister Manmohan Kalia on his 12th death anniversary, organised by his son and Punjab Health Minister, Manoranjan Kalia.

When the Manmohan Kalia Yadgar Committee President Narinder Nath Murgai appealed to the Punjab government to name some institution in memory of Manmohan Kalia, the Chief Minister accepted the proposal on the spot and asked the committee to send it for government’s approval.

When Murgai said the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences under construction in the city be named after Kalia, the former Prime Minister endorsed the proposal, saying that as the area MP, it was his right to demand the naming in memory of the departed leader who, he said, was his classmate in college.
