KHANNA, Dec 2: Commenting on the commuting of the death sentence for the ``Butcher of East Delhi,'' Kishori, for his role in the 1984 killing of Sikhs in Delhi, Takht Keshgarh Sahib Jathedar Manjit Singh said that while judges have a right to pronounce whatever sentence they think is right, the government and the judiciary should realise that steps have still not been taken to remove the sense of alienation that exists among the Sikhs due to the `ghallughara' (massacre).``The feeling of the community regarding the massacre should be respected. There is a sense of alienation among the Sikhs which has not been remedied. Steps should be taken to make the community, which has sacrificed so much for the Independence of this nation, feel that they are equal citizens,''he said.Asked about the absence of Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh at the tercentenary Khalsa celebrations, he said: `` The celebrations belong to the whole community and personal differences should be kept out. We should forget our divisions and each should carry out our responsibilities. Any organisation that wants to take part in the celeberations should count on my full cooperation as jathedar of Takht Keshgarh Sahib''.He said that all matters of faith should be settled through peaceful co-operation. He condemned the killing of Hayer in Canada and said violence could never be used to resolve any issue. ``It is the responsibility of all those in foreign countries to realise that they are living among different communities as guests. They should try and sort out differences thorugh mutual agreement arrived at after peaceful negotiations,'' he added.
