The Bulandshahr police have arrested Ranbir Singh for allegedly murdering his younger brother Sukhbir Singh and six other family members. The bodies of seven members of the family were found early on Tuesday morning. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Deputy Inspector General P V Ramashashtri said that Ranbir was harbouring feelings of jealousy and revenge against Sukhbir for the past few years.According to the police, Ranbir and his son Arvind (20) and others committed the crime on the night of July 28. “Ranbir has confessed his crime of murdering his brother Sikhbir and his family. He told the police that his daughter went missing four years ago and believed that Sukhbir had a role in this,” said Bulandshahr SSP Rajkumar Kureel.“Ranbir also alleged that Suryapratap, elder son of Sukhbir Singh had, along with few of his friends, sexually abused him. He then planned to take revenge,” said Kureel.“We have recovered three .315 bore pistols from Ranbir. He has said there are more .315 bore pistols and a sharp-edged weapon, which was used for the murders,” he added.
