Chandigarh: The Haryana government has placed the services of R. R. Fuliya, IAS, at the disposal of the Union Government. Fuliya was managing director of Haryana Harijan Kalyan Nigam, Joint Secretary (Forests, Mines and Geology) and Director, Supplies and Disposals, in the state. Now, he has been posted as Joint Director (Enforcement) in the Department of Consumer Affairs, New Delhi.

Demand
Chamba: Government employees working in the Holi area of Bharmour tribal sub-division are being harassed by anti-social elements. In a press statement, Pawan Kumar, lecturer and president HP Teacher Sangh Block Garola (Chamba), said that some miscreants attacked forest guard Ashwani Kumar near Dalli (Chanyal) on December 14 and injured him. An FIR was lodged in Bharmour thana. He said in another incident a junior engineer of the PWD was assaulted. Pawan Kumar while discharging the duty of acting principal of the Holi school was also assaulted. Stating that frequent attacks were demoralising the employees working in the area, he urged the Chief Minister to provide adequate security to the employees.

Chamba: In a meeting of the Bar Association of Chamba, D.P. Malhotra was elected as its chairman, Jai Singh, the vice-president and R.K. Kaushal was elected as the general secretary of the body.

Targets achieved
Kullu: K.D. Dharmani, the vice-chairman of Himachal Pradesh 20-point Programme Implementation, Monitoring and Review Committee, has directed the district-level officers of all departments to ensure that all benefits under the programme should reach the needy. While presiding over a meeting, he said that the deviation of funds would not be tolerated. Dharmani said that in Kullu district IRDP achieved 80 per cent target while the Department of Agriculture achieved cent percent target. Dharmani said that in flood control, the Department of Horticulture achieved 90 per cent target, the Department of Education and the office of Deputy Commissioner achieved cent per cent target. Deputy Commissioner R.D. Dhiman was also present in the meeting.

Elections
Kullu: Kamlesh Sharma, the president of Himachal Pradesh Gram Prasar Adhikari Sangh (Horticultural Department), in a press statement issued here said that the election to the state body of the Sangh will be held on January 15, at Nihal in Bilaspur district. Sharma said that he had not decided to recontest for the post of state president as yet. He said that if someone did not receive the election notification through mail on time, they should participate on the basis of the information appearing in the newspapers.
