Abdul Karim Telgi, the mastermind in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam was visited by reel Telgi, the actor who played Telgi in the soon to be released movie Mudrank, on Monday.

The movie, which is slated for release in June, portrays the life of Telgi. Krishna Manav, who plays the lead role of the movie, came to the Sessions court along with the producer of the movie in order to convince Telgi, who has objected to its release.

According to Telgi, the movie has portrayed the facts differently and is not factually correct. “The movie claims that many police officials and politicians were hand-in-glove with me. My life will be in threat if the movie is released,” Telgi told Additional Sessions Judge Chitra K Bedi.

Judge Bedi summoned Manav to the court remarking, “Who is this dummy Telgi? Let’s see how much resemblance does he have.” Telgi, who was shown the movie last year at Yerwada prison where he is lodged, told the court that the movie is a low-budget film and is a “super flop”.

Telgi has also disliked the item number in the movie performed by Rakhi Sawant. “I closed my eyes during the vulgar item song,” Telgi said. He added that four producers, including Mahesh Bhatt, had approached him to make a movie on his life. Telgi and Manav had a chat in the court after the judge gave them permission.

Telgi assured the actor and producer that he would rethink about the movie and its release.
