Contrary to what others may think, the comrades would want the violence in Nandigram to be regarded as a manifestation of, hold your heart, Naxalism. Take this. When NDA leaders sought a discussion on Nandigram at the last Business Advisory Committee meeting of the Lok Sabha, CPIM leader Rupchand Pal was ready with this suggestion: 8220;You can take it up as a part of a debate on Naxalism.8221; Nobody took Pal8217;s suggestion seriously. Much to his disappointment, the NDA is gearing up to take on the CPIM over the land acquisition clashes in West Bengal when Parliament resumes its session on Monday.
