Recall Indian High Commissioner to Pak: BJP

BJP said that the government should recall the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan and declare ISI a terror organisation.

In view of Pakistan’s continued denial of its involvement in the Mumbai terror attacks despite substantial evidence, BJP said that the government should recall the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan and ensure that ISI is declared a terrorist organisation.

“Travelling between India and Pakistan should be stopped altogether except in the case of grave emergency. Government should also consider scaling down our high commission in Pakistan and recalling our High Commissioner,” BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said in a press conference.

India had issued an advisory yesterday that Indians should avoid visits to Pakistan after the heightened tensions between the two countries following the terrorist strikes.

BJP also suggested that the Indian government should build an international consensus for declaring Pakistan’s ISI a terrorist organisation.

“India should stop using the term non-state actors any further as elements in ISI must have played an important role in planning and facilitation of the Mumbai terror attack. India must take a frontal position against the ISI and take steps for it being declared a terrorist organisation,” Prasad said.

BJP said there was substantial evidence available that the terrorists involved in the Mumbai attacks were trained and armed by the Pakistani establishment. “There are reports that they were given specialised training at PNS Iqbal where Pakistani naval commandos are trained,” Prasad said.
