PUNE, May 13: The All-round brilliance of Ranjit Khirid once again came to the fore as he helped BCC inflict a five-wicket defeat on hosts ICC to enable them to lift the inaugural International Cable Communication ICC trophy at the Poona Club ground, here today.

Ranjit, who was given a consistent performance throught the tourney got rich honours when he was adjudged Man-of-the-Series8217; along with the Man-of-the-Match8217;. Ranjit first claimed three wickets for 31 runs in eight overs and later provided a good support to Kaushik Aphale 63 to score 43 runs.

ICC8217;s decision to bat first did not pay the dividends as their opener Sujit Kalbhor, who was the man behind his team8217;s semi-final win over Alif Club, was sent to pavilion for a duck. His replacement, Sagar Shah too did not last long, returning back without any score.

However, Sujit8217;s partner Prashant Kharade 41 and Sandeep Lele 60 took stock of the situation helping the hosts compile a moderate 152 in 36 overs. The BCC reply too was proceeding as their opponent8217;s as Avinash Mali retuned without any score under his belt. But the arrival of Kaushik and Ranjit tilted back the game in BCC8217;s favour who went on to finish on a happy note without anymore hiccups.
