MUMBAI, July 29: Pharma major, Ranbaxy has posted a net profit of Rs 36.7 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal as compared to Rs 31.1 crore recorded in the same period of previous year, thus marking an increase of 18 per cent.

Speaking to newspersons here today, the Chairman and Managing Director, Parvinder Singh said that the turnover grew by 16.4 per cent to Rs 297.1 crore in the first quarter of the fiscal 1999 as compared to Rs 255.2 crore in the first quarter. The total turnover and the net profit in the fiscal 1998 was Rs 1,333 crore and Rs 186 crore respectively.
