NEW DELHI, NOV 24: India’s Jaspal Rana and Samresh Jung won the gold in the air pistol (pair) event on the fourth day of the second Commonwealth Shooting Championship at Langkawi in Malaysia today, according to information received by the National Rifle Association of India here.

Rana and Jung, with a score of 1150, led the field in the event. Rana shot 578 and Jung had a score of 572.

The silver medal was bagged by South Africa, who collected 1141 points, while the bronze medal went to England who had 1140.

In rifle, India’s TC Pallangappa and Mahavir Singh took the sixth place in the free rifle 3 position (pair) event. Suma Dixit and Anuja Tere shot 554 and 553 in women sports rifle 3 position and stood fourth.

In skeet (pair) event, Indian duo of Inderjit Singh and HS Bedi finished sixth with a score of 177/200.

So far in pairs, Indian pistol shooters have clinched three gold and a silver in four events.
