Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan has put behind him all the bitterness and is ready to campaign for the Congress in the Gujarat Assembly elections.

Paswan was upset with the Congress for allotting only one seat for his party in the secular alliance which he decided against contesting. But yesterday, sources said, all that was required to change his mind was a phone call from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, inviting him to campaign for her party.

He will address 20 election meetings for three days from December 8. And another politician from Bihar, RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav, too will hit the road in Gujarat. He will address 18 public meetings across the state, sources said. Laloo will begin his campaign from Dwarkaji after seeking the blessings of sadhus.

The LJP chief said that he had accepted the Congress’ invitation only to strengthen the secular forces and defeat the communal campaign unleashed by the BJP. He ruled out joining the Congress in the future.
