NEW DELHI, Janaury 28: Despite a quick first-half brace by medio Navin Tanwar, S S Khalsa found two other heroes, Rajesh Arya and Satyajeet, in their 4-0 victory against Children’s Academy, Dehradoon in their second Group D Limca Soccer Super League match at the Modern School ground here on Wednesday.

After Prashant Jaggi, in tandem with Arya on the left flank, had set up a sure goal and missed in the fifth minute, Navin Tanwar made no fuss about his first goal off an Anil Rawat pass from the left in the 18th minute.

Barely three minutes later, Tanwar’s grounder sparked off visions of another hat-trick that did not happen. Instead, the Prashant Jaggi – Rajesh Arya combination shot into focus even as Tanwar, his work done, stepped back into the mid-field. With a half-time lead reading 2-0, and Jaggi, after some inspired work on the forward line, having to come off the field with a bloodied nose, it was Satyajeet’s turn to fill that slot.

His chance came in the 35th minute when Arya ran round and nudgeda near perfect pass from the right to him near the goal line. Satyajeet made no mistake and increased the lead to 3-0. Meanwhile, the talented Arya missed a couple of close ones himself, before setting up yet another one for Satyajeet from the left flank. In what was probably Satyajeet’s most cerebral effort of the day, he slided forward to connect Arya’s pass near the goalline and stunned Rajesh Ghale, the CA International goalkeeper, to bring off the second Delhi win on a luckless day for two other local sides.

Earlier,in a Group C match, Modern School, Barakhamba, crumbled to a 0-4 loss against a compact Ved School, Hissar attack and, in effect, bounced out of the tournament.

The match found the third hat-trick boy of the tournament in Manmeet, while Yashpal chipped in with the first goal in the 19th minute. Mameet scored the rest in the 23rd, 26th and the 45th minute.

Earlier, DAV Chandigarh breezed through their Group B match against Tagore International with a 5-0 verdict at the Jawaharlal NehruStadium. They were leading comfortably at 3-0 during half time. Harish opened the account in the 15th minute while Dinesh increased the lead in the 18th minute. The Navdeep Singh, in the 25th minute, made it 3-0 for the visitors. In the second half, Gurpreet Singh (40th minute), and Navtej Singh scored.
