Rajasthan to follow Haryana’s lead in education

A three-member delegation of Rajasthan Education Board led by Director R B Gupta held a meeting with the officers of Haryana Education Board at Bhiwani today.

The meeting was presided over by Dr Kuldeep Aggarwal. He apprised the delegation about the semester system, grading system, continuous evaluation system, re-evaluation system and the system of online filing applications to be implemented in the near future.

He said the Haryana Education Board is the first in the country to have successfully implemented semester and grading systems.

The board had also implemented re-evaluation system for all the subjects of Classes 10 and 12.

The re-evaluation system has been implemented by only a few education boards of southern states. R B Gupta said the Rajasthan Education Board is impressed by the decisions taken by the Haryana Education Board to improve its functioning and examination system and the delegation is keen to implement them in the Rajasthan Education Board.

Efforts are being made by the education minister of Rajasthan, top brass of civil and police administration and the education department to ensure transparency and smooth conduct of examinations.

For the purpose, a state-level committee, under the chairmanship of the education minister of Rajasthan, has been constituted, he added.
