Indian Premier League winners Rajasthan Royals cancelled their media conference, which was scheduled to be held here this evening at a five-star hotel, because of the dastardly terror attack in South Mumbai on Wednesday night.

The media interaction was to be held as a prelude to the December 3-10 Champions Twenty League which has come under a cloud now in the wake of the terrorist strike at two high-profile hotels in South Mumbai where the cricket teams normally used to stay.

“Today’s media conference of Rajasthan Royals and Tata-AIG is off because of the terror attacks,” informed sources connected with hosting the event on Thursday.

The entire Rajasthan Royals team, including its iconic player and captain-coach Shane Warne, was supposed to be present at the media conference, the sources said.

Asked whether Warne was in the city, they said it was unlikely as he was set to reach today. Rajasthan Royals is among eight teams which are to take part in the USD six million dollar prize money Champions Leauge.

The other teams are: Western Australian Warriors and Victorian Bushrangers from Australia, Titans and Dophins from South Africa, Middlesex Crusaders from England, Sialkot Stallions from Pakistan and IPL runners-up Chennai Super Kings, led by India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Champions League ties were scheduled to be held at Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.
