The case against VHP leader Pravin Togadia, registered last year for allegedly distributing ‘‘trishuls’’ and making inflammatory speech at Ajmer, would be withdrawn soon, Rajasthan Social Welfare Minister Madan Dilawar said today.

‘‘The criminal case against Togadia was registered with malafied political intentions by the previous Congress government, which failed to submit a chargesheet against him in court despite repeated adjournments in the last eight months,’’ Dilawar said.

Refusing to give any time period for withdrawal of the case, he said the case shall be withdrawn soon, adding no decision has been taken in this regard so far by the government.
