June 13: The rains have started affecting the Konkan Railway trains on the newly constructed line. The section between Ratnagiri and Sawantwadi which commenced operation of trains on January 20 this year is facing its teething problems and the new cuttings and soft soil on which a vigil is maintained are seen to fall, a press release said here today.

Konkan Railway’s 0112 Up of June 12 which left Sawantwadi station in the evening was held up between Nivsar and Talwade due to falling of boulder and had to be taken back to Sawantwadi station.

However, Konkan Railway took up the works of clearing the track in all earnestness on war footing under the supervision of the regional railway manager and his team of senior officers who personally supervised the work to keep a vigil.
