LEEDS, JUNE 7: The World Cup Super Six match between New Zealand and Zimbabwe was abandoned today after rain prevented resumption of the tie carried over from yesterday.
Play had been carried over from yesterday after two lengthy rain interruptions with New Zealand, chasing Zimbabwe8217;s 175 all out in 49.3 overs, needing a further 106 to win with 35 overs left and seven wickets in hand.

Both teams were awarded one point each which virtually put Zimbabwe, who carried over a maximum four points from the first round, in the semifinals. New Zealand were placed fourth in the Super Six table with three points.
