The Raikot Police have registered a murder case against four persons in connection with the murder of a man yesterday. However no arrest has been made so far in this case.The case has been registered against Sukhpal Singh and three Nihangs who are yet to be identified. The Raikot SHO Gurdial Singh said that the case has been registered under sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under the provisions of the Arms Act. “Though we are conducting raids to nab the accused persons, till now no arrest has been made,” SHO Gurdial Singh told Newsline.It was on Sunday afternoon when Sukhpal Singh and three others had shot dead Sukhpal’s uncle Randhir Singh and had injured Randhir’ relative Sukdev Singh. While Randhir Singh died on the way to hospital, Sukhdev Singh has been admitted at the DMC hospital in Ludhiana. He has been hit on his leg by a bullet. However, their another companion Piara Singh, who was also with them at the time of attack, had a narrow escape. After the incident, the assailants fled from the spot in their car. A property dispute is stated to be the motive of Randhir Singh’s murder.
