FEBRUARY 3: CHANDIGARH: Radhika Tulpule entered the girls’ singles final of the ITF junior circuit tennis tournament at the CLTA courts. She and partner Liza Pereira, however, lost the doubles final.

Tulpule beat Xie Yan Ze of China 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 in the semi-finals and will meet Peng Shual (China) in the final.
Results: Boys’ singles (semifinals): Sofyan Kaufjun (Arm) bt Kamala Kannan (India) 2-6 6-3 6-2; Luchic Raian (Rom) bt Parantap Chaturvedi (India) 6-1 6-0. Doubles (final): Kamala Kannan/P Ravi Shankar (India) bt Omar Behroozian/Hyat Ali 3-6 6-0 7-6 (2).

A BMW rammed into a motorcycle, killing Navjot Singh, a Finance Ministry official, and injuring his wife.
