The recent racism row in Australia is not going to hamper the relationship between Indian and Australian cricket boards. In fact, both are inclined to play more bilateral series. “There is no problem between the boards. We both recognise that there should be more series between the two. In fact they have asked us to play more matches against them. The racism row will not hinder any future series,” said BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah.India are scheduled to play four home Tests against Australia later this year. The BCCI is also planning to ask International Cricket Council (ICC) to clearly define the meaning of racism. “When we meet ICC later this month in Malaysia, we will ask them to define the meaning of racism. It gave us a lot of hassles. We don’t want that in future,” said Shah. The BCCI secretary also said that racism and sledging have no place in cricket, but he conceded that players should show aggression on field. “Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble and VVS Laxman have never indulged in any form of sledging. But they are never defensive in their approach to the game,” said Shah.
