CHENNAI, OCT 20: The Rabri Devi Government in Bihar will collapse on its own before the tenure of the Assembly comes to an end, Union Minister for Communication and Janata Dal(U) leader Ram Vilas Paswan said in Chennai on Tuesday.

“The Rabri Government will die a natural death. Hence, we don’t have to make any efforts to bring down that Government. I am not for dismissal of any State Government,” Paswan said in reply to a query at a press conference.

Asked whether JD(U) leader Ramakrishna Hegde will be inducted into the Vajpayee cabinet, Paswan said it was left to the Prime Minister. “The Prime Minister and Fernandes, who is the convener of the National Democratic Alliance, are there to decide. Actually we (JD-U) were not interested in any ministerial berths,” he said.

Paswan said he is not keen on becoming the Chief Minister of Bihar. “I don’t want that post. All I am interested in is the development of Bihar and I will continue to strive for it,” he said. When asked to comment on ADMK supremoJayalalitha’s allegation that the telecom policy of the last government had benefitted Vajpayee of Rs 50,000 crore, he shot back “Why did she not raise it earlier when she was supporting the government?”
