Govt okays payment of bonus

NEW DELHI: The Union Government has approved payment of productivity linked bonus (PLB) for all its employees for 1996-97 wherever it is applicable. Accordingly, bonus would be granted to all Central Government employees in Group C and D And all non-gazetted employees in Group B, an official release said here today. Wherever PLB is paid, it varies from 19 to 67 days wages. The government had approved grant of ad hoc bonus wherever PLB scheme was not applicable. In this case it would be payable for 30 days wages, it said.

Pay Commission

NEW DELHI: While the notification, giving effect to the implementation of the modified Fifth Pay Commission report would be issued tomorrow, the Finance Ministry today issued a resolution accepting various financial demands of more than five million government employees.

LUCKNOW: Less than two weeks after assuming power, the BJP-led coalition government in Uttar Pradesh effected one of the biggest administrative reshuffles shifting in one go 111 IAS and IPS officials. Prominent among those transferred included one principal secretary, two divisional commissioners, four secretaries, 25 district magistrates, 27 district police chiefs and 11 special secretaries.
