NEW DELHI: Retail prices of high speed diesel (HSD) have come down by five paise in New Delhi, Chennai and Calcutta and by six paise in Mumbai with effect from midnight. The Centre on Thursday night decided to implement its September 1 decision to revise diesel prices monthly, so that there was parity between domestic and international rates.

Khairnar `drama’

MUMBAI: Suspended deputy municipal commissioner of the BMC, G R Khairnar, was released on bail following his arrest along with 42 others for allegedly obstructing the demolition drive carried out by the civic body at Dindoshi in north-west Mumbai. He was let out on bail on a personal bond of Rs 950, police said on Thursday night.

Factory GM shot

SRINAGAR: Militants on Thursday shot dead the general manager of a state-owned cement factory in Kashmir where five ultras and a civilian were killed since Wednesday evening. Ghulam Mohammad Khan, general manager of Khrew cement factory, was shot point blank while on his way to office.
