PUNE, Sept 9: The Bharat Forge Ltd BFL, the country8217;s largest manufacturer and exporter of forgings and forge-based machined components has been awarded the prestigious QS 9000 certificate by the Underwriters Laboratories India Pvt Ltd.
QS 9000 is a global quality standard developed by General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. It is increasingly being adopted by other global automotive majors such as Mercedes, Benz, Volvo and others. BFL is an established supplier of automotive components to Volvo and Mercedes for their European and other operations. It is the first Indian forging company to be awarded the QS 9000.
