MUMBAI, February 6: Former BJP MP Banwarilal Purohit, who rejoined the Congress after his exit in 1991, will campaign for Gurudas Kamat (Congress) in the Mumbai North east constituency. Said Congress spokesperson Vasant Chavan, Purohit will campaign here from February 20.The decision to utilise Purohit's services in Mumbai North East is significant, as his exit from the BJP was precipitated by his efforts to ``expose'' party general secretary Pramod Mahajan, who is pitted against Kamat.Chavan also expressed concern at Gopinath Munde's attempts to allegedly mislead nomadic tribes. Chavan said Munde had told a meeting of the Vimukt Jati and Nomadic Tribespeople that the cabinet had decided to create a separate department for their welfare, but could not put it into effect because of the code of conduct. ``This is a deliberate attempt to mislead people,'' said Chavan.
