RAJPURA, June 2: The Punjab Government will soon take up the issue of provision of stoppage of some more super fast trains at the railway station here while en route from Delhi, with the Railway Ministry. This was stated here today by Punjab Local Bodies and Labour Minister Balramji Dass Tandon. The Minister was here to flag-off the Shan-e-Punjab train after it made its first halt here for two minutes while on its way to Amritsar from Delhi.

According to sources, this has been made possible because of the concerted efforts of the Member of Parliament from Patiala, Prem SinghChandumajra, who took up the matter with the Central Rail Minister Nitish Kumar and got the desired orders released.

Speaking on the occasion, Tandon said with the halting of the train at Rajpura, the traders in Patiala district, in particular, will be benefitted. The Minister said that he was making concerted efforts to speed up the developmental works in the City, which, he said, would be developed into Adarsh City. Besides Rajpura, Shan-e-Punjab has its stoppages at Ambala, Ludhiana and Jalandhar railway stations.

According to sources, Shan-e-Punjab will leave for Amritsar at 10 a.m. from Rajpura after making a two-minute halt and in the evening the train will leave for Delhi at 5 p.m.
