JALANDHAR, Nov 18: The Punjab Subordinate Service Federation today held a rally at Adampur today to protest against the non-acceptance of the various demands of the employees.

The rally was also addressed among others the Congress leaders. Chowdhary Jit Singh, Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Avtar Henry, vice- president, PPCC and former MP Iqbal Singh spoke at the rally. Ajit Singh, president of the federation, and Sajjan Singh, convenor of the JAC of Punjab and UT Employees Union also who addressed the meeting.

The main demands of the employees include four per cent bonus, time-bound promotions after 4,9 and 14 years of service and payment of DA arrears.

The Congress leaders warned the government that if the demands of the employees were not accepted, the party would not allow smooth proceedings in the winter session of the Punjab Assembly.

The Congress also promised to support any agitational plan the employees may decide to undertake in favour of their demands in future.

This was the second rally to be held by the employees in the constituency within the fortnight. Earlier they had held a rally at Bhogpur.
