Seven Punjab ministers today left for Delhi to meet Sonia Gandhi and advocate the line adopted by Capt Amarinder in dealing with the tense situation in the run-up to the SGPC elections.
Finance Minister Lal Singh, PWD Minister Partap Singh Bajwa, Industry Minister Avtar Henry, Irrigation Minister Gurchet Singh Bhullar, Transport Minister Tej Parkash Singh, Excise Minister Sardul Singh and Public Health Minister Jasjit Singh Randhawa will meet Sonia tomorrow.
The ministers met Ambika Soni, Mohsina Kidwai and Motilal Vora today and hailed the efforts of the CM in the maintenance of law and order.
Meanwhile, Gurcharan Singh Tohra alleged that the Congress and ‘‘Hindu fundamentalists’’ had joined hands to ensure his defeat in the recent SGPC polls.
