Kasat fined
Proprietors of Kasat Creations, the famous sari shop located along the Karve road, were fined Rs 33,000 by the Pune Municipal Corporation PMC for octroi evasion.
According to an official communique issued on Monday by the Additional Municipal Commissioner Deepak Kapoor, the proprietors had attempted to cheat PMC by under billing a consignment of saris, worth Rs 1 lakh.
The saris, totally weighing 700 kgs, were sent by Sandeep Fashions, Calcutta to Kasat Creations. The octroi employees opened the consignment and found that in each sari a bill, spelling out the actual cost of the sari, was hidden.
