Website for messages to soldiers
For Puneites who overwhelmingly support the brave soldiers defending country8217;s borders in the Kashmir valley, a city-based Internet company Taurus Infotek8217; has launched a special website on which they can mail their messages to soldiers.
A press release issued by the company said that citizens can convey their messages on the web site searchpune.com.
Two youths killed as mobikes collide
Two youths who were riding separate motorcycles were killed when they collided head-on on the Telco road at Chinchwad on Sunday evening at around 8 p.m. The pillion riders escaped with minor injuries.
The deceased were identified as Shankar Shekhar Choudhary 35 of Yeshwantnagar slum at Pimpri and Tushar Krishna Pandav 23 of Telco Colony.
Shankar, along with Brahmadev Rajguru was proceeding towards Bhosari while Tushar along with Hrushikesh Shah, was proceeding towards KSB Pumps.
400 huts razed
Anti-encroachment squad of the Pune Municipal Corporation PMC on Monday demolished 400 hutments at a plot in Dhankawadi, which was reserved for truck terminus. This is the third action on the same plot in the recent past.
PMC had removed about 400 hutments on the plot on Saturday. The officers, however, discovered that the same slumdwellers had encroached upon the plot hours after the action. The action had also been taken against the slum dwellers about three weeks back.
On Monday , the material, required for the hutments was confiscated. It was later taken to the godowns in eight trucks.
