
History-sheeters held after chase
Four history-sheeters from Dehu Road were arrested after a brief chase by Pune rural police while they were on their way to another dacoity in Khandala on Monday night.
Lonavla police have seized swords and choppers from Ravi Pillai 25, Bheema Sayabu Kanadi 25, Balu Namdeo Kamble 27 and Nagesh Madrasi 24.They had hitched a ride in a truck at Shitaladevi Chowk in Dehu Road around 11.30 p.m. on Monday. Dehu Road police alerted their counterparts at Lonavla after a tip off. A police team led by Inspector Dilip Shinde intercepted the truck and arrested them.
They admitted to their involvement in several robberies on trains and dacoities reported from Talegaon Dabhade and Dehu Road areas.
Youths arrested
Three residents of Wakad have been arrested by Chatuhshrungi police on charges of murdering their acquaintance following a squabble over petty matters. The three youths, Haridas Shinde 22, Tanaji Namdeo alias Talaji alias Talya Karmavat 23 and the owner of a Wakad based hair dressing saloon Satish Kolhat 22 murdered Keshav Mahale 25 at Rahatany on the night of February 2. Mahale8217;s mutilated dead body was found near Jagtap Dairy, Model Colony.
Dacoits strike
Three persons were injured when some unidentified dacoits armed with axes and sticks targeted their house in Bhadale Vasti area of Uruli Devachi village last night. Baban Bhadale and his son Bajirao, who suffered serious injuries, have been admitted to a private hospital at Loni Kalbhor. Baban8217;s wife Jankubai, who also suffered some injuries, was discharged after being treated with first aid. Jewellry estimated over Rs 11,000 was stolen.
