PATIALA, Dec 2: The Punjab State Electricity Board’s Council of Junior Engineers has decided to intensify its agitation against the anti-employee attitude of the board management.

In a statement here today general secretary of the council, P K Alipuria said the council has served a notice of agitation upon the board management today. Elaborating, he said the agitation would be launched to protest the abnormal delay in implementation of agreement reached between the board management and the council.

He said that in the first phase, the JEs would boycott the stores / labs for two-day from December 10 and would wear black badges. They also planned to hold an empty-tank scooter rally in all the circles of the Board. Memorandums would be submitted to respective SEs.

Alipuria said that JEs/AAEs were not being compensated for 40 lt petrol per month and maintenance allowance of vehicle. Similarly, JEs/AAEs working in other wings, were also not being suitably compensated.

The council criticised the management for adopting a double standard while releasing shift duty and risk allowance to employees working in sub stations.

The council urged the management to settle the demands of JEs immediately to avoid further unrest.
