CHANDIGARH, May 26: To celebrate its 90th anniversary, the Punjab & Sind Bank is organising an all-India seminar on Agriculture Credit, at the Kisan Bhavan, where all the field functionaries working in various offices in India would attend.Bank chairman and managing director, Surinder Singh Kohli, its executive director B. D. Narang and general manager R. K. Sareen, would also address the seminar, in order to accord top priority to the agriculture sector.The bank has drawn up a plan to provide Rs 400 crore to agriculture sector for the year 1998-99, of which Rs 300 crore would be disbursed only in Punjab state. During 1997-98, the bank disbursed Rs 220 crore for agriculture, of which Rs 145 crore was disbursed in Punjab alone.
