Thailand wrap up girls title

The Thai girls team successfully defended their team title at the HP Asia Pacific Junior Golf Championship on Saturday after a round of four-under 68 from Pavarisa Yoktuan gave them a one-stroke win over Chinese Taipei....

The Thai girls team successfully defended their team title at the HP Asia Pacific Junior Golf Championship on Saturday after a round of four-under 68 from Pavarisa Yoktuan gave them a one-stroke win over Chinese Taipei.

Pavarisa also won the individual title with a three-under 213 aggregate score. India’s Gurbani Singh and Shreya Ghei finished tied for ninth,13 strokes back,while the team finished third.

 The Thai team also zoomed ahead in the boys’ category,enjoying a healthy 13-shot lead with just one round left to be played. The Indian boys finished one-over for the day. The hosts were once again led by Chikka who shot a round of two-under 70,while Ashbeer and Manu Gandas submitted cards of level-par 72 and three-over 75,respectively. 

Chikka,though,took the lead in the individual section with a three-round tally of 12-under,three shots ahead of Thai Poom Saksansin. Overnight leader Teng Kao struggled to a three-over 75 after sustaining an injury.
