Terror strike averted in Peshwar

A possible terrorist attack in Peshawar was averted with security personnel defusing a suicide jacket lying in a rubbish heap.

A possible terrorist attack in this northwestern Pakistani city was averted on Monday with security personnel defusing a suicide jacket lying in a rubbish heap,officials said.

Members of the bomb disposal squad defused explosives attached to the suicide jacket that was found near Spin Jamaat area,police officials said.

Police arrested two suspects from the spot and took them away for interrogation.

Officials said local residents informed them about the suicide jacket lying in a heap of garbage.

An official of the bomb disposal squad said the jacket contained 14 kg of explosive materials.
