Shanghai Shenhua may lose Didier Drogba following ownership row

Drogba and his former striker partner at the Blues Nicolas Anelka may soon be sold.

Former Chelsea star Didier Drogba’s career at Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua has been thrown into doubt after an ownership row emerged at the club.

The Chinese club’s chairman Zhu Jun has threatened to cut back on his investment, propelling fears that Drogba and his former striker partner at the Blues Nicolas Anelka will be sold.

Zhu has funded the salaries rumoured to be 200,000 pounds a week each for the pair, but has now threatened to pay only 28.5%,as that is his stake in the club.

Zhu ploughed more than 60 million pounds into the club on the understanding he would receive a 70% stake, but that has not happened, and as a result he is ready to pull back his investment in the club.
