For the first time since its invention in 1948,the rules of scrabble has been changed,which will allow the inclusion of acronyms such as lol (laugh out loud) and tbh (to be honest). Scrabble Trickster has been brought into the market after fans of the world puzzle voted to change the old rules of the game and adopt text-speak. The new game includes rules like double points being awarded for anadromes,which means tiles that spell another word backwards and the power to impose unwanted letters on rivals. Other rules include the ability to replace any tile with one of your own to steal the points and a mini-challenge between players. However,the move by Mattel,the makers of Scrabble Trickster,has already enraged purists and wordsmiths alike. This is just another nail in the coffin of the English language. Manufacturers of games should uphold standards, the Daily Express quoted Nick Seaton of the Campaign as saying.
