SAfrica challenge ‘different’ from victorious Lanka one: Clarke

Australia will tour South Africa to play 2 Twenty20s,3 ODIs and a 2-match Test series.

Fresh from winning the Test series in Sri Lanka,Australian captain Michael Clarke is already looking ahead to the challenges awaiting his team in South Africa.

Australia sealed the three-Test match series 1-0 on Tuesday,and will now tour South Africa to play two Twenty20s,three ODIs and a two-match Test series.

“Conditions are completely different where we go next. We go to South Africa and I think we need to assess conditions and assess the squad that we take to South Africa,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Clarke,as saying.

“That’s certainly something that we selectors will need to think about,talk about,but every individual player has done everything in their power to get picked on that next tour,” he added.

Clarke further said that his team took plenty of positives out of the Sri Lanka tour.

“I’m really proud of how we’ve gelled together. There’s been a lot of stuff off the field as well that the playing group have had to deal with throughout this series,” he said.

“I think we’ve handled it really well so we deserve a lot of credit for that. Every single player has done nothing,but grab their opportunity with both hands,” he added.
