Nokia launched two new phones in its Lumia range,the Lumia 720 and 520. Both are powerful mid-range Windows Phone 8 (WP8) handsets. The Lumia 720 will be available in mid-April at an estimated price of Rs 20,000,while the Lumia 520 will be available next week for Rs 10,500. At the launch,Vipul Mehrotra,Director-Smart Devices,India Middle East Africa,Nokia said,The WP8 momentum is building and Nokia is charging ahead with the Lumia series. The launch of Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 reflects our commitment to build a winning ecosystem. Nokia Lumia 720 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus mobile processor. It has a 4.3-inch display with super-sensitive touch that can be used while wearing gloves. Nokia Lumia 720 comes with Nokia Music,Here maps,and optional wireless charging with a snap-on cover. Lumia 720 has a large f aperture and a 6.7-megapixel sensor,that should be good for low-light photography. Music can be streamed from the Lumia 720 to NFC-enabled accessories such as the JBL PlayUp portable speaker,simply by tapping the two devices. Nokia Lumia 520 is the cheapest Windows Phone 8 smartphone and delivers excellent value for money. The phone is the successor to the Lumia 510. It has a four-inch super sensitive touchscreen,similar to the one in Lumia 720. It has a 5-megapixel camera,8 GB internal storage (expandable to 72 GB via microSD card) and comes with a host of useful Nokia apps.
