Mystery woman a cast member,no security risk

She was a cast member who clearly got slightly overexcited: Coe.

A day after India protested over an unidentified woman who walked alongside flagbearer Sushil Kumar at the opening ceremony,London Games Organising Committee Chief Sebastian Coe said today that the mystery woman was a cast member and there was no security risk to the team.

She was a cast member who clearly got slightly overexcited, said Coe. She shouldnt have been in the opening ceremony. But dont run away with the idea that she walked in off the street, he said.

The woman has reportedly been identified as Madhura Honey,a graduate from Bangalore who has been living in London for some time.

An angry Indian acting Chef-de-Mission P K Muralidharan Raja had shot off a letter to the London Games organisers last night over the incident. We were all set for the opening ceremony, but then someone from the organising committee brought this girl, and we didnt think much of it because theres always placard holders and others. But then later it was pointed out by one of our athletes that she did not have accreditation, and was not supposed to be there, he said.

Theres also talk of another mystery man,a head of a Telugu association in London, who has been noticed in the Indian contingents photographs.
