Spain's Jorge Lorenzo won the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix on Sunday to move within 35 points of MotoGP championship leader Casey Stoner. Lorenzo passed pole sitter Stoner at the first turn and held the lead from there to finish in 44 minutes,11.877 seconds at the Misano circuit. Fellow Spaniard Dani Pedrosa passed Stoner with six laps to go and finished second,7.299 seconds behind, and Stoner was third,11.967 back. Stoner holds a 35-point lead over Lorenzo with five races remaining this season and wins worth 25 points each. I'm happy because I've won both races in Italy this year and last year I didn't win any,'' said Lorenzo, who can now look forward to racing at home at the Aragon GP in two weeks. Stoner maintained that the title won't be decided until the end of the season. I was just happy to finish on the podium today. I prefer faster tracks,'' said the Australian, who won the Indianapolis Grand Prix last week. ''I haven't recovered enough since Indianapolis. I haven't slept enough.'' In a Spanish sweep of all three races,Marc Marquez won the Moto2 event and Nicolas Terol took the checkered flag in 125cc.
