American pop singer Jennifer Lopez was all set to sizzle the opening night in Kolkata on April 2 but this may not happen. According to reports,the former American Idol judge has backed out of the performance citing date issues. Reports further suggest that Shah Rukh Khan is still trying to convince his star performer of the opening night. The opening ceremony is being organised by Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan's firm Red Chillies Entertainment. JLo was to perform with Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif at the Salt Lake Stadium. The Pepsi IPL 2013 will be played across the country from April 2 to May 26. American pop star Katy Perry had performed at the opening ceremony of Indian Premier League V (IPL) last year in April. Here's hoping SRK's efforts pay off and we get to see JLo on the opening night.
