I-T searches at Deccan Chargers Sporting ventures’ office

Income Tax officials on Wednesday searched the premises of the sporting company that manages the Deccan Chargers team as part of its nation-wide raids on various IPL franchises,even as the company officials denied any such visit by I-T sleuths.

According to sources in the IT department,the probe team searched the office premises of Deccan Chargers Sporting ventures Limited,headed by T Venkatram Reddy,chairman,Deccan Chronicle group to dig out if there was any undisclosed information on the financial agreements and transactions.

“Our investigation team was there in the Deccan Chargers office today. But we cannot call it a raid,” an IT department official said.

Some of the officials of the Sporting Company based in Secunderabad were also questioned,the official said.
