An Indian RJ from Bangalore will fight it out with 16 other contestants from across the globe for 'the best job in the world'.

An Indian RJ from Bangalore will fight it out with 16 other contestants from across the globe for ‘the best job in the world’ as caretaker of a tropical Australian Island.

RJ Anjaan,a 28-year-old radio jockey,who is skilled in Bollywood dancing,will fly on May 3 to Hamilton Island along with 15 other candidates for final selection on USD 150,000 six month contract to look after the tropical island,ABC reported.

Touted as the ‘Best Job in the World’ it needs one to swim,explore and relax in the island in the Great Barrier Reef,while writing a blog to promote the area,it said.

The Queensland Government’s tourism body announced 15 finalists including a Canadian journalist,Japanese receptionist,German actress among others for the job which received a whopping 34,000 video applications,who will join the Taiwanese Clare Wang wildcard entry.

The job is part of a campaign to publicise the charms of northeastern island and Tourism Queensland CEO Anthony Haye said it has already generated more than 100 million Australian dollars worth of publicity for the region.

The winner will be announced on May 6,with the job set to begin July 1.
