The Indian cricket board's anti-corruption and security unit chief Ravi Sawani

The Indian cricket board’s anti-corruption and security unit chief Ravi Sawani has completed questioning of three cricketers involved in the alleged IPL spot fixing issue and will be submitting his report to the BCCI next week.

Sawani questioned medium pacer Santhakumaran Sreesanth and spinner Ankeet Chavan for three hours each on Monday in New Delhi. Sawani had last week also questioned former Rajasthan Royals medium-pacer Amit Singh and current player Siddharth Trivedi, who has become a prosecution witness.

A top BCCI official confirmed to The Indian Express that Sawani had completed his probe and that he would submit his report before the working committee meeting in the first week of July.

Another spinner Ajit Chandila, also arrested on the same day as Sreesanth and Chandila, hasn’t been questioned yet as he remains in judicial custody.

“The future of these players will be decided after Sawani submits his report. Sawani can’t recommend the punishment and can only submit a report based on what he has ascertained from the players during questioning,” the official added.
