Guinea forces clash with protesters in capital

One witness,local resident,told said that he had heard two gunshots fired during the clashes but there was no official confirmation of that.

Security forces in Guinea clashed with several hundred youths protesting in the capital Conakry on Monday as a deadline for the announcement of presidential poll results neared.

We managed to disperse the demonstration,said one senior police official of the unrest in two strongholds of ex-premier Cellou Dalein Diallo,one of two rivals in a Nov. 7 run-off,some results of which have been queried.

One witness,local resident Souleymane Bah,told said that he had heard two gunshots fired during the clashes but there was no official confirmation of that.
