Throughout his career,Hendrik Human Dippenaar, better known as Boeta managed to stay low-profile in an otherwise star-studded South African middle-order. So it isnt surprising that he will be leading the low-profile Diamond Eagles in the inaugural Champions League T20 in October. The task will be a very tough one,but certainly one that we are looking forward to. Last year not many people gave the Eagles a chance in our domestic competitions and yet we finished second, says And the 32-year-old Dippenaar, adding that not having individual superstars had forced them to play better as a team. Despite lack of international experience only Dippenaar,off-spinner Thandi Tshabalala and wicket-keeper Morne van Wyk have played at the highest level the Eagles reached the final of the Standard Bank Pro20 Series. And Dippenaar, who played his last ODI in India as part of the Africa XI during the Afro-Asia Cup in 2007,admits adjusting to the conditions would be their biggest challenge. The Eagles have two players who were part of different IPL sides during the second edition, and he hopes their experience will come handy while van Wyk made a few useful contributions with the bat for Kolkata Knight Riders,Ryan McLaren was on the bench for Mumbai Indians. Dippenaar also admits that getting past his first-round opponents New South Wales Blues and Sussex Sharks would be a challenge. It was as an opener that a young Dippenaar made his Test debut against Zimbabwe in 1999,but soon had to shift to the middle-order due to the presence of heavyweights like Gary Kirsten and Herschelle Gibbs at the top. He who played 38 Tests and 107 ODIs in his eight-year career before calling it quits.
