The Indian Boxing Federation (IBF) will conduct trials over three days,beginning on August 26,to select 10 boxers from the 48 probables currently undergoing training at the national boxing camp in Patiala for the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games. Senior officials including the selection committee members would all be present during the trials and the IBF has decided to videograph the entire proceedings at the trials. The campers would have bouts as per event rules and based on their scores and past performances in the recent tournaments,selection would be made. Currently the boxers are attending the senior national coaching camp at NIS Patiala and have been selected on the basis of their previous performances as well as the recently concluded senior nationals. Meanwhile. the camp officials are also trying to persuade the government to allow all the boxers in the camp to stay with the national team.
