Despite being banned by the Indian Premier League for a year there is still chance that Indias shorter-version specialist Ravindra Jadeja can be part of Season III that starts next month. CEO Sunder Raman informed that Jadeja, against the league rules, had been hob-knobbing with other franchise for a possible transfer but he can still appeal to the governing council to revert the ban. He can ask for an audience with the governing council and after that it will depend on them. After all he is an India player, Raman told The Sunday Express. The IPL chairman Lalit Modi too confirmed it saying,Anybody can seek an audience with the governing council,Jadeja too can do that. When asked if the IPL wasnt taking action against the franchise that was flouting rules by directly talking to the player,Raman said,They cant be pulled up for merely answering a phone call from a player. The IPL chairman Lalit Modi refused to comment on the issue saying that right now no such decision has been taken. It is a very complicated case, he said. Those in the know say that the franchise with which Jadeja was in talks with had shown keen interest in signing the all-rounder. He was told that all will be well. But when things went out of hand he was left to fend for himself, said sources close to the banned player. Modi said that players need to strictly adhere to the rules laid by the IPL,The player guidelines laid out by the governing council of the IPL are sacrosanct. We will not tolerate any player playing games or blackmailing any teams or the IPL/BCCI in any manner. Drafted in as an under-19 player in the first season,Jadeja was upgraded to a Rs 40 lakh contract after he represented India last season. After signing a one-year contract with Rajasthan Royals, there was ambiguity about his status. A tug of war between teams resulted in the deadline for signing players expiring.
