Zaheer undergoes ankle surgery Zaheer Khan,who was ruled out of the England series due to an ankle injury,underwent surgery. Zaheer,who bowled just 13.3 overs in the first Test at the Lords last month before injuring himself,went under the knife on Monday. Got the surgery done on ankle on Monday, Zaheer wrote on his Twitter page. In his latest tweet,he wrote,Recovering well .. getting used to walking on crutches. Meanwhile,Indian team manager Anirudh Chaudhry on Thursday clarified that seamer Praveen Kumar was rested for the final Test due to ankle injury and not thumb injury. Praveen was suffering from pain in his left ankle from an injury sustained while bowling in the 2nd innings of the 3rd Test Match between England and India at Edgbaston, a media release said. ECB planning No.1 bash The ECB will invite former players to celebrate the teams rise to the top of Test rankings. The Board will be inviting players involved in Englands rise to the top to attend the final day of the fourth Test against India at The Oval,The Daily Mail reported. The ECB will go back as far as 2007 to compile a guest list of cricketers deemed to have been pieces in the jigsaw,the report added. As many as 23 cricketers,including the 13 in the squad,have represented England in Tests since Andy Flower took over as coach of the team. The event is likely to witness the presence of Paul Collingwood,Andrew Flintoff,Steve Harmison,Monty Panesar and Ryan Sidebottom apart from former captain Nasser Hussain,among those,who are not the part of the squad.
